Team Shocker Wins 5th Glastonbury Title

Team Shocker has been around for what seems to be forever, and while this Connecticut-based club team might be slightly less well known than some club teams out there, they sure are loaded up with talent, and LOTS of it is coming from the D3 ranks. I first ran in to Team Shocker at the Glastonbury Tournament (in Glastonbury, CT) back in 2000, but they had been alive and kicking before that.

Is that Eddie Sheehan I see? Hey Eddie!

Team Shocker is home to a number of former (and current) CVLC members, and a good number of the Shocker guys are Eastern Connecticut State (NCAA D3) graduates… many of whom I played against back in college. These guys may be old(er) on average, but they’re still bringing the pain. 2013 marked Shocker’s FIFTH Glastonbury title in the top division, and that’s something to brag about. The fact that half these guys are over 30 makes it even better.

Here’s an up close look at their uniforms for this Summer:

Keith Hughes sent these photos over, AND he scored the OT game winner in the semifinals for Shocker. He sent over photographic proof of that too, which is equally sweet:

Fist pump celly before GLE? Classic.

Another awesome side note? Keith played box with us up in Syracuse, NY last winter against Neal Powless, and the Syracuse Stingers:
