Tufts vs Yale Scrimmage Video

Last week we told you about Bates opening practice one day, and scrimmaging WAC the next. That’s tough! This week we’ve got video from Tufts first scrimmage of the year, where they took on D1 Yale, and they took the exact same path. Practice Day 1. Scrimmage Day 2. Against Yale. Talk about a trial by fire!

If you haven’t read the story about Jacob Beranger yet, you should. Tufts is making a difference in a kid’s life, and not surprisingly, Jacob is making a difference in the Tufts Lacrosse Players’ lives. I asked Coach Daly for his thoughts on Jacob and he responded simply: “Kid is the man!”

Great stuff from Tufts!

Houghton College Update

Houghton is playing their first full year of D3 Lacrosse in the Empire 8. It’s a tough road and we’re following the Highlanders all season long thanks the David Steves!

The Highlanders started their season off on a good foot with a scrimmage against Cayuga Community College on February 22. The Highlanders took on the Spartans in a competitive exhibition of lacrosse.  Each team worked hard for the ball but Houghton came out on top with heart, hustle, and hard work. Throughout the game the offense and defense both improved with increasingly effective team play and communication. On the offensive end the Highlanders possessed the ball allowing key situations to arise for 11 goals. Sean Daigler and Paul Chapman had multiple goal efforts while Jared Limbeck, Josh Bailey, and Christian O’Lone also scored goals on the day. Now that the Highlanders have established a good start to their season they  look forward to their first game against Baldwin-Wallace on March 8th.

Throwback Thursday – FULL GAME – Oneonta Vs Brockport

This is the first game for Oneonta under the lights (at least that the announcer can remember any way), from way back in 2002! Oneonta is in red, Brockport is in green. Enjoy!
