LOUD NOISES!

We’ll start off with some of the big story lines, because why not?

Salisbury escaped OWU with a 4-3 at home. The Battling Bishops were up 2-1 at the half. SU got two goals from Phipps, and two goals from Kluge. See here for more info on the game, as well as killer game photos by Tommy Gilligan. Hampden-Sydney knocked off Ferrum 13-3, and Kim Black provided photos.

Hamilton knocks of Tufts. The Jumbos hosted the visiting Hamilton Generals and had to play the game without over 20 of their players, who were suspended for an incident earlier in the year. Hamilton still only won the game 10-9. Tufts plays Conn College (who knocked off Bowdoin 13-12) on March 12th and will not have the suspended players back for that game either. On the 16th, Tufts plays Stevens, and all of the suspended players are due to return.

What is old is new, and good again. Last week I talked about how WAC is back. They’re still 4-0. Gettysburg is also back, sitting at 3-1, with their lone loss coming 8-5 to Salisbury. Washington & Lee is back, and is 5-1 right now with a lone loss coming to WAC. OWU and Whittier are both 4-2, and looking strong.

Look who is undefeated! Sure, Dickinson, Stevens, and Stevenson are all 5-0, but let’s not forget about Plattsburgh, who sits at 4-0, with wins over RPI, Farmingdale State, Farleigh Dickinson, and Norwich.

NESCAC beginnings… Impressive weekend of home action for Wesleyan, as they bested Williams 7-6 on Saturday, and then beat Hamilton 12-6 on Sunday, to start the season 2-0. Hamilton and Bates split their respective double header weekend games, while Amherst went 0-2. Colby, Conn, Middlebury, and Trinity are all 1-0. Trinity was the only NESCAC team to play an OOC game, and they beat Skidmore (1-3) in a tight 11-10 OT game.

Polls – So Many Polls

Polls come out later today. It’s early. They’re still pretty meaningless.

It’s hard to say anyone outside of Stevenson, Stevens, Dickinson, Cortland, and WAC being in the Top 5 right now, although strong arguments can be made for RIT, Tufts, and Lynchburg, even though they each have losses already. Ok, maybe it’s not that hard to name a different top 5. Got someone else you think is a contender? Explain your position in the comments!
